Burlington opens new store in The Woodlands and donates to local school

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Burlington, a leading off-price retailer featuring favorite brands for the whole family and home, has opened a new store at 1420 Lake Woodlands Drive, site of the former Toys ‘R’ Us at Pinecroft Center. This is a move from the store that was previously located at 16590 I-45 South in Conroe. For the grand opening, buyers were greeted with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special offers.
Employees and buyers enjoyed the grand opening and groundbreaking ceremony
The Friday following the groundbreaking ceremony, the first 200 adult customers received a $5 bonus card to use towards their purchase. On Saturday, the first 200 adult customers will receive a Burlington WOW! Buck to scratch and reveal a prize up to $250 and be used towards their purchase. And on Sunday, customers will receive a free Burlington tote, while supplies last, no purchase necessary.
“Our goal is to continue to provide communities with great values on branded products for the whole family and home,” Michael O’Sullivan, CEO of Burlington Stores, said in a statement. “We continue to expand our footprint across the country and are delighted to be moving a store to The Woodlands. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to experience fantastic prices on a wide range of products. » ??
Rycky Andres is the new store manager, bringing with her decades of experience in the retail industry. She is still enjoying her Woodlands home which she purchased a few years ago.
“I’ve been with Burlington for seven years; I was previously at Macy’s and before that at Foley’s for 28 years. When Macy’s downsized, several people including the CEO came to Burlington and have loved it ever since,” she said.
Burlington was once a coat and dress factory in Burlington, New Jersey. The family that owned the business sold it and the new owners started adding to the inventory. So while the retailer still carries coats, it dropped that aspect of the name to reflect its increased reach.
“Being a discount retailer in the economy we have right now is great. We’re also one of the few places that still offers layaway programs,” she said. “Burlington is a growing business; we are one of the only retailers to open new stores every year. We continue to grow and we definitely appreciate our associates.
To celebrate the grand opening of this new location and highlight its ongoing commitment to education, the retailer donated $5,000 to nearby Houser Elementary School through its longstanding partnership with the national nonprofit organization nonprofit AdoptAClassroom.org. The funds will be used to help teachers purchase the necessary materials for their classrooms so their students can learn and succeed.
Liz Koehler, Principal of Hauser Elementary, was thrilled to receive the check from Andres and his team in Burlington. “We are so grateful for Burlington’s donation,” she said. “Our teachers work extremely hard in their classrooms; they have invested a lot of money to make it a fun place and a great learning environment for their children. I know they are going to be extremely grateful for this donation.
