CONCORDE

If NASCAR had “majors,” this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 would rank up there with Daytona and Talladega.

The longest event in stock car racing, a 600-mile marathon around the 1.5-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, will have its 62nd race at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Coke 600 race is the finale of “Speed Week” in Concord over Memorial Day weekend, which included concerts by Flo Rida and the Steve Miller Band, motorcycle stunt shows, motorcycling events military appreciation and more. Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform a pre-race concert today at the speedway on pit road at 3.50pm

Denny Hamlin is in pole position.

What channel is the Coke 600 on?

The Coke 600 is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Sunday and will air on Fox (WJZY for Charlotte viewers) and stream online at FoxSports.com with a valid cable or satellite subscription.

For cord cutters, the race on Fox can be streamed with a subscription to YouTube TV, Hulu+ Live TV and DirecTV Stream. It is also available live.

Weather forecast for Coke 600

It will be hot with temperatures expected to hover around 85 degrees in Concord when the green flag flies at 6 p.m., but there will be cloud cover. No rain is forecast.
