Early layoffs for Salisbury schools on September 17th – Times News Online

The weather is finally getting colder and with the official return of football and fall sports, that means it’s time to break out the hoodies and boots. We now hope that the students all settle into the back-to-school routine and do their best. The fundraisers have started and we are off to a good start for the year.
Salisbury Secondary School will be holding its Fall Photo Day on September 16, while students at Salisbury Primary School will have their turn on September 20. Photos can be ordered online, through Christmas City Studios, with login details provided by the school. If you missed this information, contact your students’ respective schools. The link to order closes 48 hours after the day of the photo.
All schools in Salisbury Township will have their first early layoff of the year on September 17th. SHS and Salisbury Middle School will lay off at 12:15 p.m. and SES at 1:15 p.m. communicate it in the dismissal application.
SES will be hosting the next T-Shirt Day on September 24th. Make sure your shirts are ready to go.
The next school board meeting will be held on September 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the administration building.
Applications are now being accepted for the Alumni Wall of Honor. For more information or to make a nomination, visit the Wall of Honor section of the salisburysd.org website. Applications must be submitted before October 1.
The films at the park will take place on September 17 at Franko Park. They will be playing “Raya and the Last Dragon” with an estimated start time of 7:15 pm Bring your own chair or blanket and all park rules apply. Children must also be accompanied by an adult.
There will be a Chance Basket raffle at the Evangelical Lutheran Jerusalem Church in Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 17. Also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 18. There will be two days to put the tickets in the baskets; no refreshments. Winners can pick up the baskets after 3 p.m. on September 18. The township branch collection is scheduled to begin the week of September 20. Branches should not exceed 5 feet long and 5 inches in diameter. They should be bundled with string and placed at the curb. Open containers can be used for small branches. The branches must be clean and separated from other garden waste.
The municipal dumpsites remain open alternately on weekends. Garden waste collection hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Franko Farm site will be open on September 20, 23 and 25 while the Devonshire site will be open on October 27, 30 and 2.
