IIT Indore opens ‘online teaching labs’ for students across the country
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indian Institute of Technology Indore has opened its state-of-the-art laboratories to students from other academic institutions. The institute launched a new program called Online Teaching Labs where access to world-class labs would be extended to other academic institutions.
Previously, students from other academic institutions were allowed to visit these facilities as part of a tour, but now they could use them for academic purposes. The institute is already running a “Vigyan by Charcha” program to provide practical knowledge on various subjects to schoolchildren as well as teachers.
Professor Anand Parey, Dean of Resource Generation, said: “We designed the experiments keeping in mind that they cover the curriculum of many universities. The labs will be conducted online with real-time demonstrations of the experiments. The labs will be interactive where students can clarify their doubts instantly. This will allow students to participate in various stages of experimental learning, including conceptualization and experimentation followed by reflection, analysis and interpretation of data. Lab courses will provide students with first-hand experience of course concepts and the opportunity to explore the methods used by practitioners in their respective disciplines.
An e-certificate will be issued to students upon successful completion of the laboratory sessions. Details are available on the IIT Indore website and students can send their email to [email protected] with any questions.
