FAYETTEVILLE – Only one Fall Boys’ golf team has won each time they hit the course in 2021.
In 12 duels and a pair of tournaments, Jamesville-DeWitt proved unstoppable, ending his perfect season by capturing the Fall Section III Class A tournament on Wednesday at Green Lakes State Park.
The Red Rams finished at 383, comfortably ahead of Oswego, who was second at 408 while Fulton was third at 436, edging Cortland (439) in fourth place.
Wet conditions caused by the rains at the start of the week made it difficult for the 42-man squad, but no one did better than JD’s Jackson Saroney, who shot 72 for the individual medal.
Just behind him, Saroney’s teammate Trey Jacobson took second place with a 74, while Punn Chittaratlert tied Neil Roman of Oswego for third, each posting a 76.
Mitchell Archer was eighth with an 80 and Ian Delpha was ninth with an 81 while Blaise Anthis shot 82. All qualified for the May Section qualifying tournament at Seven Oaks.
East Syracuse Minoa Blue secured fifth place in the team standings with 449, led by Zach Johnson, who finished fifth among individuals with a 77.
Logan Welch tied for 18th place with an 85, Braedon Smith adding an 89. Aaron Reynolds had a 98 and Zack Harmon shot 100 while Jacob Gallipeau of ESM Orange had a 128.
