Logan takes his passion for softball to Baker University | Paola
PAOLA – Jayda Logan will be heading to Baker University next fall to join the Baker Wildcat softball program.
Logan signed a national letter of intent in front of his family, friends and coaches at a ceremony held in the common area of Paola High School.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play softball at the college level,” said Logan. “I’m a little nervous too. “
Baker recruited Logan to play second base and outfield.
Logan was researching four colleges and universities and was thrilled to find his new home in Baker.
“Baker University was by far my first choice,” she said.
Logan took a tour of the school and liked what she saw from the coaching staff, team players and campus.
Logan, older than Paola, started playing softball at the age of 8. She has spent the past five years playing for the Team Kansas and Top Gun traveling club programs.
“The club ball taught me a lot of things, how to be a good teammate, how to be self-disciplined and how to work together,” said Logan. “My coaches over the years have prepared me in every way they can. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the encouragement and coaching from these men.
Being surrounded by family and friends for the signing was a blessing, Logan said.
“I was overwhelmed with gratitude to have the people I care about most in this world encouraging me,” she said. “I have always had an incredible support system from my family, friends and teammates. “
Logan plans to major in psychology with a minor in business.
Jayda is the daughter of Jerry and Michelle Logan from Paola.
