If you want a chance to win some real money while supporting world-class healthcare at Peterborough Regional Health Center (PRHC), there’s a new lottery in town.

The PRHC Foundation has officially launched its very first online 50/50 lottery.

“We all want the best possible care for our loved ones, but government funding does not cover all of the hospital’s needs,” said Lesley Heighway, President and CEO of the PRHC Foundation, in a press release. “Proceeds from the new 50/50 lottery will help fund the equipment and technology that form the basis of patient care. “

In a 50/50 lottery, half of the money raised through the purchase of tickets goes towards the prizes, the other half going to the non-profit organization that runs the lottery.

Tickets for the PRHC Foundation 50/50 lottery, available online only, can be purchased now at foundationprhc5050.com. Ticket options include 10 tickets for $ 10, 40 tickets for $ 20, 160 tickets for $ 40, or 400 tickets for $ 75.

There is a guaranteed jackpot of $ 9,895, as well as a bonus prize of a Resorts of Ontario gift certificate valued at $ 2,500 (or a cash bonus of $ 2,000).

The grand prize winner of the new 50/50 online Peterborough Regional Health Center Foundation lottery will be announced on October 28, 2021, with two early draws earlier this month. (Photo: PRHC Foundation)

The big winner will be announced on Thursday, October 28. Two early bird draws will provide additional chances of winning, with cash prizes awarded every hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday October 8 and Friday October 22.

Heighway says the 50/50 Lottery is a new way for people to support their hospitals, with proceeds to help close the government’s funding gap at CHRP.

“They will help bring vital new services to our region and allow PRHC to attract the best doctors, nurses and staff to our hospital,” said Heighway. “When people buy their tickets, they will have the added comfort of knowing they are supporting exceptional patient care, close to home, for patients across our region.

You can buy tickets on foundationprhc5050.com.
