Notice to 322 Delhi schools for failing to upload midterm exam scores online

The Delhi government’s education directorate has issued show cause notices to heads of 322 government and government-subsidized schools for failing to upload midterm exam results online on time.
Mid-term exams had been held for pupils in classes III to XII and schools had been instructed to upload their marks by November 7, a date which was later extended to November 11. Officials said the grades of 4,585 students from those schools had not been uploaded.
“Headmasters and subject teachers not only disobeyed all instructions and guidelines issued by the department from time to time, but also made a mockery of the online data entry system…Due to Gross negligence, inattention and non-compliance by headteachers/teachers, a great impediment has been caused to the smooth conduct of examinations and the entry of grade data required for the preparation of online student results “, we read in the notice sent to the 322 schools.
The management has urged the headteachers concerned to explain why legal action should not be taken against them for “negligence, dereliction of duty and failure to comply with instructions”.
