The initiative aims to support FNS in the transition from National Service (NS) to job search or higher education.

Replaces the E-PREP system from 2003

In a Press releaseMINDEF explained that the new initiative, [email protected] Learning Experience Platform ([email protected] LXP), will replace the current Electronic Pre-Release Employment Program (E-PREP).

E-PREP was introduced in 2003 and only offered 3,000 courses.

With E-PREP, NSFs only receive a fixed amount of credits to use, capped at S$350.

It was only available to them during their last 12 months of full-time NS and for use for up to a year.

NSFs can access a variety of free online courses

By comparison, [email protected] LXP will give NSFs unlimited access to over 75,000 online courses.

NSFs can activate their account at any time during their full-time NS. The account will be valid for two years from the day they activate it.

According Straits Time (ST)there will be approximately 135 course categories to choose from.

NSFs can learn a variety of skills such as software coding, management skills training, cybersecurity, digital photography, and more.

Some courses can even be used for credit exemptions for multiple programs at polytechnics and universities.

Additionally, NSFs can track their learning journeys with personalized recommendations based on their preferred field and skills.

The initiative also includes an online database containing information from government agencies, industry partners and private educational institutions.

For example, information about job fairs and workshops organized by NTUC LHUB can be found in the database.

Quarterly [email protected] fairs will also be organized for NSFs and will include a wider range of potential employers and educational institutions.
