Obituary of Judith “Judy” Peterson – Green Bay Press-Gazette

Judith “Judy” Peterson

Green Bay – Judith “Judy” Peterson, 67, Green Bay, died in the arms of the Lord, Tuesday, March 22, 2022. She was born April 2, 1954, in Green Bay to Harvey and Joyce (Brueckner) Meetz.

Judy attended St. Agnes Elementary School, West High School and graduated in the class of 1972. She went to UW-Green Bay, majoring in human growth and development. Judy then began her teaching career which spanned 44 years at Holy Family. Over the years, she earned her Masters in Education. Judy married William Peterson in 1977.

In her youth, Judy was very fond of ice skating. When her children were young, they spent weekends up north at the cabin, traveled to Door County to taste wine, and traveled west with the family to visit her sister in Las Vegas. Judy has always been involved with the St. Agnes Choir and the extracurricular activities of Holy Family and Syble Hopp.

Survivors include her husband, William; children, Rob (Tara) Peterson, Kayla Peterson; grandchildren, Reegan, Ava, Wesley and Kinsley Peterson; his mother, Joyce Meetz; brothers, Gary Meetz and Jeff (Mel) Meetz; nephews, Cory Meetz (fiancée, Val), Shawn Meetz and Cameron January (girlfriend, Morgan).

She was predeceased by her father, Harvey Meetz; sister, Lynn Meetz.

Friends and family can call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29; followed by the Christian funeral mass at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Patrick C. Beno officiating. To send your condolences online, go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
