Online resource helps prepare students

With the vast majority of WECDSB students returning to in-person learning when school resumes on September 6, a team of educators have prepared a great new resource to help them make a successful comeback.
“Our Back to School Transition Series is a wonderful online resource that contains a wealth of fun and informative resources that will help parents and their children have a smooth return to school,” said Superintendent Kelly Bull. “Our team has been developing this throughout the summer, and they’ve compiled a wide variety of resources that we’re sure will be very helpful in helping students get back to routine.”
The series is divided into age-appropriate categories for students and caregivers and includes information on mindfulness, planning and establishing routines, where to find support, fun activities, parenting resources, and more.
“We understand that returning to school can be an anxious time for some students and parents, so we wanted to make sure we provided resources that would help ease those concerns in an easy-to-navigate and fun-to-use format,” said said Diane Tope-Ryan, a senior program specialist who helped develop the resource.
