Pinner Wood School in Harrow wins national multiplication table competition

Pinner Wood School in Harrow has won a national times table competition beating over 355 other entrants across the country in an incredible achievement.

Pupils and teaching staff at the school said they were “incredibly delighted to announce that they have won 1st place in London Rocks – a times tables competition run by the app and platform. internationally acclaimed, award-winning learning platform, Times Tables Rock Stars”.

The contest, which was open to schools across the country, required children to answer as many questions correctly as possible and give their class and school the best chance of winning.

A whopping 25,549,430 questions were answered collectively by 64,630 students from over 355 schools and 8,954 classes, and Pinner Wood finished first in the entire selection of entrants.

The school’s top-performing class was Sagano Year 4, which achieved 278,202 and the top student, Hamza Salad, 30,044 – congratulations are certainly in order for this incredible accolade.

Ms. Depa Patel, Classroom Teacher and Head of Mathematics, said: “I am incredibly proud of Sagano! The focus has been on developing fluency and precision over the past year. The children have worked incredibly hard all year, shown great resilience and the results speak for themselves.

To celebrate, the school is having a Rockstar dress-up day after the win. The school’s top-performing class was Sagano Year 4, who scored 278,202 and the top student, Hamza Salad, scored 30,044 – congratulations are certainly in order for this incredible achievement.
