Pledge app to provide a “one stop shop” for experiences outside of the classroom

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania — For students looking to get involved on campus but don’t know where to start, Penn State has a tool that can help.
The Engagement App is a University-wide platform that connects students to the wide range of engagement experiences available to them at Penn State. It is also a way for students to network with students, faculty, and staff who share similar interests.
“The opportunities for Penn State students are virtually endless, but the Engagement app can help students find the experiences that are right for them,” said Michael Zeman, director of the Student Engagement Network (SEN), Penn State’s office providing the application. . “Whether students are just beginning their engagement journey or looking to take their engagement to the next level, the app is a one-stop shop for engagement at Penn State.”
The Engagement app is designed to help students find opportunities outside of the classroom such as student organizations, undergraduate research, study abroad or study abroad, volunteering, internships and more .
With the app, students can:
- Check out the latest in-person and virtual events happening on their campus and across Penn State
- Find, follow and interact with student organizations or university colleges that match their interests
- Share news, opportunities, photos and videos with their network – or the entire Penn State community
- Join group chats with like-minded Penn State students and organizations — or create their own
- Set personal goals and connect to resources that support their success with the Path Builder
The app, which now has over 10,000 users, was originally launched in January. User testing and feedback has been used to make improvements and add new features for launch in the fall semester 2022. Additional improvements and features will continue to be added throughout the 2022 academic year- 2023.
Students are encouraged to go on line or download the application from the App store Where google play by searching for “Penn State Engagement App”.
