Teacher Fired for Singing Britney’s “Toxic” in Class, Internet Says “I’ve Seen Worse”

[ad_1]
A substitute teacher at Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, was forced to cut his work day short after being fired for a classroom karaoke session. The unidentified teacher was caught singing Britney Spears’ “Toxic” with a light show during the first period on December 3, 2021. In response, the Austin Independent School District (AISD) said that he was “not following best practices”, and asked him to leave.
The news offers a lighter take on school antics, after a long year of conflicting news in the classroom. From education to critical race theory to mask mandates, schools have become hot spots for heated debate, and often parental anger and violence. In September, a parent even forced a Florida school to close after threatening to confront authorities over their mask warrant.

But just like the masks and the CRT, the karaoke incident seems to have infuriated a lot of people. While not everyone liked the teacher’s interpretation of “Toxic”, they were all united in their fury at the school’s response, noting that the teachers were taken for the worst.
‘The lights are a bit too much’
It is not known who the teacher is, as his identity has not been revealed by AISD. On December 3, it emerged that he wanted to have fun rather than teaching. So he took out a microphone and started singing while being recorded by some of the students. Along with the music, he also turned on a kind of light projector, covering the classroom with multi-colored lights. AISD confirmed that he was the one who brought the karaoke machine to class. Shortly after the karaoke session, the teacher was called by the authorities and asked to leave. Initially, there were rumors that the person was a prankster posing as a teacher, but the district confirmed he was a registered replacement who erased the background checks. “All the processes were followed, it was just a replacement not following our practices,” said a spokesperson for AISD. tell KXAN.
The spokesperson also commented curtly: “I’ve heard worse covers from Britney Spears, but the lights are a little too bright.” He wasn’t the only one with a sense of humor, some social media users also saw the funny side of the professor’s antics.

Others have proposed a more damning dismantling of the school. âI’ve seen substitute teachers do much worse things in the classroom,â one person commented. Another user tweeted: “The substitute teacher from Texas who brought a karaoke machine to class asked to leave. With all the crazy shots these teachers made and it’s the karaoke getting on the administration? Funny . ” Another laughed, “The beginner’s mistake: he should have done it with two AR15s in each of his hands.”

It is not known what happened to the man after he was kicked, but he reportedly found another job at another high school in the district. Hopefully they don’t find his behavior too toxic for the class.
