Val Verde schools grapple with internet, phone issues – Press Enterprise

The Val Verde Unified School District is experiencing internet issues that are affecting their networks, connections, and phones.
The full impact on students and staff was unclear on Friday May 13.
The Perris-based district “has experienced a computer network disruption,” spokesman Maximiliano Garcia wrote in an email Friday.
This same message was visible on Val Verde’s websites on Friday.
Garcia’s email did not include details. When asked for further information, he did not respond Friday afternoon. Members of the Val Verde school board could not be reached for comment on Friday.
It is not known when or how the problems started.
A Facebook post from Val Verde Elementary School PTO, a nonprofit group of parents and teachers, reposted a Wednesday, May 11, post from the district that cited “major technical issues.”
The district post said the issue affected its internet and phones, but said schools could still call for emergency help if needed.
“The timeline for restoring services has not yet been determined,” reads the post, which thanks the community for its patience.
The school district serves parts of Perris, Moreno Valley, and the Mead Valley area.
